Almost Spring?
Since I haven't posted in a while, I thought it would be nice to tell you what I have been up to since the beginning of the year.
On February 16, I helped ring the NASDAQ opening bell to celebrate the Centennial of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Get moving and try a new activity!
This winter, I went on a long weekend with friends to Lake Placid, New York - the site of the 1932 and 1980 Olympics. I enjoyed cross country skiing at Mount Van Hoevenburg and downhill skiing at Whiteface Mountain. But my biggest thrill was learning how to speed skate from a couple of professional speed skaters. That was so much fun and an incredible workout.
It is important for the health of our body and mind to stay active. What new activity do you want to try? Take a trip to Lake Placid, NY where there are so many outdoor activities. Click here to learn more about having fun in the Adirondacks: http://visitadirondacks.com/
Nutrition is in your genes!
Did you know that your genetics predetermine what nutrients you may deficient in? Or whether you may be gluten or lactose intolerant? Nutrigenomics is a growing area of interest and research. I am one of the few dietitians who offer Nutrigenomix testing.
