Women's Health

A woman goes through a variety of changes during her life which nutrition and fitness will impact. Whether you are a young woman with new changes to your body, a woman during childbearing years, or a woman going through peri-menopause or menopause, I will help you meet your wellness goals. I am a registered dietitian nutritionist based in New York with expertise in all phases of the women's lifecycle.

Pregnancy

* Would you like to get pregnant?

* Are you pregnant?

Good eating habits and a healthy weight impact the ability to get pregnant. It also influences the health of your child. So the time to start eating nutritiously is the moment you start thinking about having a child.

Did you know?

* Eating habits impact the ease of conception.

* A healthy weight prior to conception impacts the health of your baby.

* Gaining weight in the correct increments is important for the growth of your baby.

* Eating plenty of fruits, vegetables, nuts and whole grains is one of the keys to healthy pregnancy weight gain.

* Exercise throughout pregnancy is recommended although the type of exercise should be evaluated individually

I will help you eat healthfully to give you and your baby a wonderful future. I can develop an exercise plan that incorporates your current routine into one that is appropriate during pregnancy.

Post-Natal Nutrition

Congratulations! You’re a parent. You immediately lost some weight during birth. Now you want to lose more “baby-weight”. Before you go on a crash diet, you must determine whether or not you want to breast-feed.

If you are breast-feeding, your body needs extra calories to produce wholesome milk. You still must continue to eat a healthy diet to produce nutritious milk that will help your baby grow. I will help you determine how much you need to eat for healthy milk production so you can lose weight healthfully for both you and your baby.

If you are not breast-feeding, you have the luxury to begin a more intense weight loss routine. I will help you develop a unique program that incorporates both exercise and healthful eating that will become part of your lifestyle.

Now you are asking, how do I exercise when I have a baby to take care of? Where do I find the time? No worries - I will show you ways to exercise with your baby.

Pre/Post Menopause

Women over 40 find that their body is not the same. Hormonal changes occur, some of which can be very uncomfortable.  What you eat can make you feel better or even worse.  I will work with you to develop a healthy eating and exercise plan based on your body's needs.  If you are interested, complementary therapies will be explored.
